Hi, I'm Chrissie and I'm an English author living Devon, UK. I always wanted to write books and as a child my school reports read, “Chrissie is creative and enjoys her story writing, but needs to pay more attention to academic subjects too!” My English teacher was very supportive however, and encouraged me to follow my dream and never stop writing. So that’s what I did. My first full-length story called The French Mystery, was written at the age of eleven! Although it was never published, I continued to write lots of short stories and poetry and my first piece of (factual) work was published in 1999. I finally published my first full length novel in 2008.
Eleven years on and I'm now an author of eight published books. I'm currently planning and writing books nine to fourteen! I'm so proud of what I've achieved so far. Here's a little snapshot of the the amazing things that have happened since 2008:
My books have been bought and read in many countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, French Guiana, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, USA, UK
In 2016 my book Among the Olive Groves won an historical fiction award
My books are available in both public and college libraries in the UK
Among the Olive Groves has been used as text for TIE International ESOL exams in Greece
I've been interviewed for Radio, Podcasts and YouTube Book Clubs in both the Greece, USA and UK
I've appeared at Literary Festivals and Book Club Events
My poem Maisie was performed at the Bath International Literary Festival in 2012
I've also written articles for many websites and publications on whole range of topics!
I also created and run the South West Authors and Writers group for fellow authors living South West, UK
A message from Chrissie
"When choosing a book to read you want something that will interest you and have you hooked. You want characters you can identify with. Stories that will grab your attention. Chapters that will keep you reading until the very last page. I love reading as much as I love writing, which is why I know how important a good story is. I write because I enjoy it. More than that, it’s my passion. Writing is something I love being able to do.
History is also my passion. Uncovering the past. How people lived. How historical events and eras formed the places we now call home or visit on holiday. It fascinates me. Writing books that have a historical theme is important to me. It means I get to combine my love of writing with my love of all things historical.
Readers are important too. When a reader gets in touch to tell me they’ve read and enjoyed one of my books, it’s the best feeling in the world. It makes me incredibly proud of what I do. It also makes me determined to write and publish more great stories for my loyal fans to read and enjoy.
Thank you for all your support. There’s so much more to come! "
